How amazing is this shirt from J Crew?
I just about died when I saw it. It was $100 though, so that ridded my option of buying it.
Instead I decided to just make my own.
Shirt: Homemade, Skirt: Tobi
I based the shirt off of the Butterick B5049 dress pattern. It was super simple to adapt though. I basically just followed the original pattern but cut it hip length and made the A-line cut a little less prominent.
Then I added an exposed zipper down the back. In hindsight I kind of wish I wouldn't have done a contrasting one but oh well. I guess I don't hate it enough to go back and change it.
So all in all, I saved about $80 dollars making my own version. I'd say that's not too bad!
