Crafted : Neighborhood Party Invites

Tuesday, September 20, 2011

Ok so first I have to say that I am soo not a graphic designer. Photoshop is a foreign concept to me and the thought of creating something digitally scares the crap out of me. (Seriously how do these people do it?) But I do really, really want to learn. Like really badly. So I'm making an attempt.
(That was my disclaimer by the way. So none of you out there better be thinking I know what I'm doing or anything. )

My first attempt came in the form of invitations for my mom. The cute lady thought it would be a fun idea to throw a neighborhood get together so she offered to pay me to make the invites. (Score! Money and practice? Now that's my kind of deal.)

I was pleasantly surprised with how they turned out given that I was expecting to hate them
not to like them very much.
I guess it's just nice to know I don't always have to rely on Etsy. (Though a big part of my spending money will most likely end up there anyways. ha )

What's something you've always wanted to learn how to do?

  4. Haylee you are super talented-- this goes to show that your creativity and artistry carry over to many different areas! I like them a lot. Super simple, just my style.
I have always wanted to learn photography and how to sing. I feel like I have a good eye, but I would love to have someone teach me about light. As for the singing, I think it may be a bit too late for that... ha ha, I have fun pretending anyway.

  5. Anon- Thank you!! Gosh that's so sweet of you to say. Even though I don't know who you are I wish I could meet you in person too because you clearly are a very nice person.

SLC- Ah I'm with you on the photography! I want to learn that so badly, I admire photographers so much because of that. And ya right it's too late. Heck Susan Boyle did it, didn't she? :)

  6. Kaleigh- For some reason your blog won't let me comment on your posts but I just wanted to tell you that those muffins you made looks scrumptious and I think you should post pictures of your prom. :) Even though I know it was a few months ago.
